Throwback Friday. Sunset, A Moment in Time

I have been focusing on sunsets lately, so appropriately, my Throwback Friday poem is a ‘Sunset’ verse that I wrote in March 2023. However, please note that all images in today’s post were taken this evening.

Sunset, A Moment in Time

here
I stand
waiting
I see
clouds lifting
paddocks shimmering

here
I stand
camera in hand
waiting
for that pivotal moment
where the edge of time
implodes

here
I see
the golden sun
and a tree-lined horizon
majestically collide

sunset!

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you for your gorgeous compliments, Nancy … it’s always a joy to go walking with Frankie and sunset times are photographically extraordinarily special and visually inspiring 🌔🌞😍🌏📘🐶

      1. I’m sure it is spectacular, dear Ivor, something not to be missed. The sky was very clear last light and the waxing gibbous moon was unbelievably bright. I could see it perfectly from my bed and I watched it until I fell asleep. It was incredibly relaxing. 😎🥱🌔🛌🌎💛

      2. Our evenings have been a bit cloudy but the moon has been clever enough to shine for me at those special moments

  1. I clicked on the song first, like I always do. And while it plays and I listen I always look at your photos and then read your words and poems. I read your poems aloud. Then I watch/listen to the video/song again. 🙂 Today’s combo of song, photo, and poem brought tears to my eyes. (Pass the tissues, please.) 🙂

GORGEOUS photos, Ivor! Picture perfect sunset and photos, indeed! I love the golds and yellows in nature! Sir Frankie looks like he is pondering the sunset and grateful for the sun hugging him with warmth and love. 🙂
GORGEOUS poem capturing you and Frankie’s precious moments of sunset time! 🙂
GORGEOUS song/vid! “Let there be light, let there be light, let me be right.” 🙂
    (((HUGS))) 😊💛🩷💜💙😊
