Water and Sand
I am a nomadic island A minute rock of water and sand An unstable molecular lotion In the universe’s vast ocean
I am one unsinkable living gland At the mercy of nature’s timeless hands
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

we are all temporary , part of the universe in motion
Love your poem, dear Ivor, but that song is a real downer, especially for those of us in the final chapters of our lives. Transient beings, all. Where has the time gone?!
We are all living in the mercy of Mother Nature, but a lot of us think that we can, defy nature, and people keeps on, RAPING Mother Nature, abusing her resources, and now she’s, mad, and we will be living IN her, W-R-A-T-H.
Such lovely photos! The sky, the clouds, the bird, and especially Sir Frankie bring me such joy! 🙂
A poignant powerful heart-touching poem, Ivor!
We are a small speck in the vast universe…but there is so much we can do to make sure this world is a better place because we were here for our allotted time. 🙂 I’m so grateful to be alive (still) and to be a part of nature. 🙂
Heart-touching song/vid! It speaks to me of
those difficult internal battles we all deal with… anxiety, self-doubt, disconnection, a sense of feeling lost. But, we must be resilient, hopeful, grateful, and optimistic as we keep moving forward. 🙂
(((HUGS))) ❤️❤️❤️
A wonderful, wonderful appraisal of my poem, Carolyn… oh, I just found it last, I it’s a bit and reflective but I think it is full of hope too… This time I’m not losing me, it’s gonna be alright … 😍🌏😊📖💕🐶

That is a sad song, Ivor. We are all just a flash in the pan and I cannot say I have an inkling as to why we are even here doing this- but we are.
