G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you very much, Nancy … I was just doodling down some thoughts, and all of a sudden, a poem fell into place …
      “Words without guidelines
      A sign of the times
between the mines and the pines”

      1. Oh, thank you, and you’ve just inspired me to put together a poem of my ‘comments’ … I think it’s good enough to submit to Coffee House Writers, for my next poem …

        “I Hear Words”

I hear words about when and where
But is the answer out there … Mark

        Words without guidelines
        A sign of the times
        Between the landmines
And the fallen pines … Nancy

        Abruptly, they barge through
        Abhorrent is their destruction
        Absent is their compassion
Abstract is their abnegation … David

        Despite our cumbersome ways
The sun rises over the bay
And graciously resurrects our day … Eugi

Oh, please show me the way
        Through the misty sea spray
And beyond the blue jay causeway … Paul

      2. Lovely words of encouragement, Nancy, and I’ll definitely submit it … the more I read it, the more sense the combination of my comments seem to make 📖😊😍🌏

  1. Wow. Such a powerful poem…those images! Very thought-provoking, too! And such a perfect title.
That SYML song always touches to the depths of my heart and my soul. Brian’s voice and the message of the song.
