Less Than Half

Less Than Half

My timeline has been drawn
I see the sky’s white swan
Casting shadows on my lawn
Reminding me of tomorrow’s dawn

After twilight, tiredness becomes my thorn
And I have forgotten why I was born
No matter, I am never forlorn
Half of my horizon is still fawn

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Such a beautiful heart-touching trio of photos, poem, and song/vid! πŸ™‚
I love the soft shades of the color fawn in nature, which is, also, the color of little dear deer-fawns. Makes me think of warmth, gentleness, comfort. πŸ™‚
Your poem makes me think of resilience…and cherishing the time with our loved ones and friends. πŸ™‚
(((HUGS))) for you and Sir Frankie!!! ❀️❀️❀️

    1. Thank very much for your lovely words, Carolyn … I’m running way behind tonight … today’s poem was a stubborn one. The words and rhythm would not work for … It’s nearly midnight and I’m still battling to finish it … πŸ“˜πŸ“ƒπŸ˜ŽπŸ˜πŸ˜΄πŸŒπŸΆ

  2. I am reading your posts in reverse since I am trying to catch up- so once again i like the rhyming end words- and this was a new song to me and I really enjoyed. I had never heard of this artist.
