Wrapped in Snowflakes

Wrapped in Snowflakes

Today, I received a gift,
Wrapped in snowflakes.
White and fluffy on the outside,
And warm-hearted on the inside

The blessed offering
Consoled my soul
Like a white chocolate-covered strawberry
Delicately smooth and delightfully sweet

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Ivor, this feels like such a gentle joyβ€”β€œwhite and fluffy on the outside, / and warm-hearted on the inside” makes me smile. There’s something quietly comforting in the way you’ve wrapped warmth in winter.

    Much love,
    David

  2. Oh! Such a beautiful post! Photos, poem and song/vid! πŸ™‚ Brings the smiles! πŸ™‚
A wonderful reminder that warmth can come in all forms, in many ways…so many things can bring warmth to our hearts…wrapping us in kindness, comfort, understanding, tenderness and love…often the little things like a smile, a text, a nod of the head, a hug can be the bestest. πŸ™‚

    1. Hi dear Carolyn, I’m so pleased you enjoyed all the contents of my post … the poem is a thank you response/email, for the lovely gift that my friend from Kuala Lumpur sent me … 🌏😍 and the music/video was a new one for me, and it really suited my poem … πŸ’šπŸ“ƒπŸ˜ŠπŸΆπŸŒžπŸŒ–πŸ’•

    1. Thank you for your delightful words, Nancy … actually, my poem is a copy of the ’email’ thank you message that I sent to my friend … it’s a metaphorical piece, knowing that she would clearly understand the meaning behind my words … πŸ˜πŸ’•πŸŒπŸΆ
