Away With the Faeries

Walking in a dreamy haze,
Inside a bubble of days.

Yet hearing a silent morning chant,
From the intrigued missionary ant.

Talking to an unreadable cloud,
Ignoring the bewildered crowd.

Yet the sky is a warm winter blue,
And toes are sipping yesterday’s stew.

Meandering and wondering-
Then wandering toward today’s horizon.

A hessian bag of forests and mountains,
A stone’s throw away from tomorrow’s fountain.

An ocean beyond magpies and wallabies,
In a land of bearberries and faeries.

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Wishing I was in the air. I’ve got 17 days to go … my ongoing “Blue Screen” computer problems are persisting and hopefully my whiz kid brother will be able to fix it while I’m away in Canada 🇨🇦 I

  1. Beautiful photos! Oh! Sir Frankie, you cutie, you know something is going on, upcoming, something important, don’t you!

Your poem is fun, Ivor…whimsical, magical, beautifully rhyme-y, with vivid memorable word-pics! A joy to read out loud! Your toes sipping stew makes me think of Dr. Seuss! 😉 😀 And your poem’s emotions make me think of the song What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong! 🙂
    A fabulous poem, Ivor! 🙂

    THAT song grabs my heart.
    (((HUGS))) ❤️❤️❤️
