Feeling Stumped, But Not Grumpy

I’ve only 12 days to go until I fly over to Canada. I’m on antibiotics and have been ordered to rest. Therefore, my blogging commitments will be minimal for the next 7days.

Feeling Stumped, But Not Grumpy

I have a badly inflamed throat
That feels like I’m swallowing
Broken needles and razor blades.
(Please don’t make me laugh.)

And I have an awful chest cough
That rattles and clangs
Like a grumpy polar bear in chains
On my rusty iron roof.

I’m physically lumpy and stumped,
But even though my body is trumped,
My mind is enthusiastic and pumped–
Ready for my flight to be happily humped

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Oh, no! 😦 🤒
But…so glad if this HAD to be, it is BEFORE your travels!
Please rest, take your meds, lots of fluids, and be a patient patient! We send prayers and healing wishes for you to heal quickly!
I know Sir Frankie will keep an eye on you! 🙂

  2. Do whatever they tell you to do so you’re ready for your trip. You don’t want to bring it with you. Twelve days is a long enough time to not be contagious but you don’t want to be worn down and exhausted. So rest. Short walks with Frankie, or just stand outside with him. Hope you feel better soon.
