Ring the Bells

Ring the Bells

The paternal magpies are singing
The garden bells are ringing
Spring is playfully emerging

The wattle trees are flowering
The meadow grasses are growing
But, Theo the tomatoe is struggling

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. A perfect trio of photos, poem, and Mr. Waits song! So much wonderful, beautiful nature-activity in spring! šŸ™‚

    1. Poor Theo didn’t get enough watering while I was away, plus there was a couple of heavy frosts just after I left … hopefully wth a bit of TLC he’ll come good … thank you for your lovely words, Carolyn…. It’s quite surreal to travel from early Autumn to early Spring in one day!!! … šŸŒšŸ˜šŸ¤—šŸ’•šŸ¶
