Wind and Light

“May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face, and the winds of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.” ~ George Jung

Wind and Light

I cannot perceive the speed of light,
but I can feel its energy –
gently touch my skin.

I cannot see today’s cold gusts,
but I can hear nature’s wind —
boldly sting my eyes.

Between light and wind,
I know who is the fastest.
But I wonder: who is the strongest?

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Fabulous posting about wind and light, Ivor…photos, quote, poem and music! πŸ™‚
I know wind can be so fast and so strong…but light is so vital to all of the living things on earth. πŸ™‚ I’m glad that often wind and light work as a team for the benefit of the earth. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you very much for your lovely words, Carolyn … sorry I’m a bit slow replying. I’ve been busying doing some submissions, and after all of the submissions I’ve done over the years, I still get anxious about whether my words are good enough to submit … I know I shouldn’t be, but my nerves of expectancy are always there. πŸ“˜πŸ’™πŸŒπŸ“ƒπŸ’›πŸ˜πŸ’•πŸ“™

      1. I know, it’s just my anxiety issues that hinder my logic … anyhow, one of poems I submitted yesterday, has already been accepted and will be published in January πŸ“–πŸ˜πŸŒ

Oh! and Yay! I’m so happy for you! I always love when your poems get seen and read by more people! You always have a lot of good, heart-touching, encouraging, and important messages in your poems! πŸ™‚
