An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
Drowning in Words
“Surfacing from the sea of edits — Frankie keeps watch while I wrestle the waves of words.”
Drowning in Words
Emerging from a sea of black and white, Normal fonts floating to the right, Italic letters cascading to the left — Manuscript time has been my head chef.
The last race on the card is over. Proofreading is suffering from overexposure. My foggy mind is resting under the cloud cover, And I’m recuperating on a bed of clover.
“Proofreading fatigue meets sonic flood — Amanda Palmer’s ‘Drowning in the Sound’ echoes the emotional undertow of my own ‘Drowning in Words.’”
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

May the sea be calm moving into the twilight of editing and may Frankie always guide you into the light. The video is new to me but I like it. Happy Friday my friend.
Oh, my ‘Poe’ shirt … it’s getting a bit tatty; I bought it in Philadelphia (2019) when I was visiting the historic Edgar Allen Poe house … it’s an old favourite of mine … 📃😍
I waylaid in the middle of the year, but since I’ve return from my Canadian adventure, it’s been full steam ahead, and I’m really pleased with how everything is falling into place, Cindy 📃📘💙🌏💕
OH! and YAY! 🙂 Well done, Ivor! 🥳
Now I hope you can get some good rest and sleep. Sir Frankie, too. 🙂
Give Frankie some gentle pats of love from me…he has been such a good encourage-r to you during this process. 🙂 He is probably like, “That’s been A LOT of words, Dad! And who is that on your shirt? A cat?” 😮 Ha! 😀
(((HUGS))) ❤️❤️❤️
We had a good rest and slept in this morning … then I enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at the “Geelong Short Play Festival” … Lol, Frankie ruffled up my bed while I was out … 🐶😍💛📘💙

I don’t proof read. I get someone else to do it and correct what they find. By that stage of a book, I’m very over it 🌝

Great shirt and when they get well worn it just shows how much you love it.
