Who Was In My Bed?

Who was In My Bed?

I always make my bed in the morning
As soon as I get up.
Surprise, surprise!
When I arrived home from outing
To the Geelong Short Play Festival show
There: my bed covers, we’re all ruffled up!
“Who had been sleeping in my bed?”

When I left my house
There was only one guy inside
To look after the place
While I was out having a good time
Yep! … you guessed it
That, guilty-looking, “Frankie”

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Ha! His sweet face says it all! πŸ˜€ I’m sure he was just fluffing up the blankets for you, Ivor! πŸ˜‰
    Great poem!!!!!!!!!!!!! πŸ™‚
Whether it was a blanket, a hand towel, a towel…Cooper always had to fluff it up just so…then he’d lay down on top of it. It was fun to watch him! πŸ™‚
