The Snail and the Butterfly

The Snail and the Butterfly

Midmorning; the day is breathing,
and Steve the snail is cruising.

I espy where he has been,
and I innately know who he wants to see.

Betty, the pretty butterfly,
is fluttering down from the trees.

A rendezvous with Steve is nigh.

Like Sigur RΓ³s,
breathing life into a quiet town, Steve and Betty meet in the stillness of morning.

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. I’m so pleased you’re enjoying Sigur Ros … the link I’ve attached here is a 2 hour video of their regional tour/journey through Iceland in 2006, I play this video a lot, and thoroughly recommend it to you … it really gives you wonderful feel for the sensitivity of what their incredible music is all about πŸŽΆπŸŒπŸ’•

  1. Beautiful and sweet, Ivor! Nature brings the joy! Love Betty and Steve! They are smile-bringers! Their loving friendship is sure to grow! I’m sure patient kind zippy Betty appreciates that Steve is the leisurely unhurried quiet type. Ha! πŸ˜‰
