G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. I shared this with a friend of mine… And he looked it up… don’t know why I didn’t think of doing 🥴
I’ve put them right in my journal…☺️
So again, thank you for introducing me to them!

Anyway…this is what he shared with me…

        Be careful now.
Something here has already been harmed.

What once stood strong has been burned, cracked, or worn down,
        and what remains is fragile.

        Every step matters.
        Every movement carries consequence.

This place — this life, this spirit —
cannot endure force or carelessness anymore.

        What survives does so quietly,
        asking not to be disturbed,
        not to be pushed,
not to be taken for granted.

There is no anger in what is left behind,
        only a warning spoken softly:
        tread lightly.

        Because even kindness,
        if rushed or unaware,
        could become destruction.

        And yet —
        if you slow down,
        if you listen,
        if you show restraint,

        then what still breathes
        may heal.
