Staring Back At Me (a Tanka)

Stepping outside, I find the night moon is still following me.

Staring Back At Me (a Tanka)

It’s after midnight
I’m out, beyond the front door
The night is cloudy
But I can still see the moon
There, watching my every move

And the moon kept following me as if the night wasn’t done with me yet

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. It’s 7.15 am here and I’m in bed using my new/second hand iPad, which cousin Penny gave to me while I was Canada, Vancouver Island, Duncan … and I use this lovely gift every morning before I get going πŸ₯°πŸŒπŸ’»

  1. Gorgeous photos! The moon is a wonderful companion. πŸ™‚ I’ve always enjoyed taking late night or early morning walks to commune with the moon. πŸ™‚ Coop always enjoyed those walks, too.
