Drifting Inland (a Haiku)

Even far from the shoreline, the inland breeze carries more than wings — the sky still remembers where the journey began.

Drifting Inland (a Haiku)

Four coastal seagulls
Drifting on the inland breeze
Miles away from home

Some journeys begin with a single gust of wind.

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. A Haiku I’ve had storage for a while and today seemed to be an appropriate time to post it … my birthday luncheon was carrying old stories, familiar faces, and the quiet reminder that love doesn’t end; it simply changes shape.

  1. Oh, what a beautiful posting, Ivor…fabulous photos, wonderful Haiku, perfect song choice! I can feeling myself drifting with the breeze and the gulls…serene and content, enjoying the view. 🙂
