Throwback Friday, In My Mind, by Ivor Steven

My mind wanders into memories and rhymes

Here is another poem I wrote when I was on a Pacific Isand Cruise (March 2018), laying on the beach at the gorgeous Isle Of Pines

In My Mind

Inside my head, in my bed

Inside my mind, in a bind

Thoughts of you, always you

Visions of you, all of you

In my mind, I’m so blind

Why so blind, I need to unwind

Too many dreams, so it seems

What’s it all mean, so many dreams

That Endless Sound

This little piece is a poetic comment that I wrote in response to V.J. ‘s intriguing poem, ‘On the Edge of Too Late’ >> https://vjknutson.org/2022/06/02/on-the-edge-of-too-late/
Thank you V.J. for touching my nerve ends!!

That Endless Sound

I wonder about the edge

Over time, the dance has eluded me

Between giddily spinning in circles

And my inevitable stumbles

Life has left me spiraling

Without, an ending sound

My Kite And Bike (Revised)

Here I am in this ancient town

Climbing the local Snowy Mountains

Standing in the world’s greenest paddock

Flying my yellow and blue kite

On the thinnest of worn threads

My kite is soaring higher and higher

Toward the bold clouds, thick and soft

Where pristine snowflakes abound

All bright and shiny white

Smooth enough to ride my silver bike on

Peddle my way over today’s slippery black-ice

And splash through the heights of tomorrow

Throwback Friday, What Will Happen Tomorrow, by Ivor Steven

What will happen tomorrow, where will it be safe for the children to play .. 😥💔

ivor20's avatarGo Dog Go Café

Today I am presenting a poem that I originally wrote back in July 2018, about ‘Trump’s’ Texas refugee prisons/camps >> https://ivors20.wordpress.com/2018/07/26/where-is-their-tomorrow/ .. but this morning I altered the piece to be appropriately poignant, and represent my thoughts about this week’s sad tragedy in Texas …

What Will Happen Tomorrow

I eat, I drink, I sleep

I casually dream of yesterday’s

I shamefully wonder about tomorrow’s

I’m walking along my sunny street

I’m alive and free as a bird

But where do the children play tomorrow

Will the children wake-up without crying?

Will the children see sunlight today?

Will the children be with their parents tomorrow?

Why are the lawmakers sleeping?

Where is their conscience today?

What will happen to their voices tomorrow?

Who Has The Foggiest? (a Limerick)

This week’s challenge on Weekly Prompts is: MISSINGPlease go over and visit their fabulous site by clicking on >> Here .. and my Limerick below is in response to the prompt ‘Missing’

Who Has The Foggiest? (a Limerick)

I cannot see the morning moon

There’s no sunshine in my breakfast spoon

The heaviest of fogs falls

I cannot hear the birds’ calls

Has our world condemned nature’s tune?

The Rear of Night (Revised)

My fading dawn was impossible to identify

A heavy fog had kidnapped my sky

Sabotaging my morning sunlight

The day disappeared in front of my eyes

The passing of night left a murky blight

There’s no start nor end to my blurred sight

Breathing in moist air, I gasp, “where’s the moon?”

Had my dismal forecast unravelled too soon?

Is this shadowless gloom?

The beginning of doom ?
