The Sun Kisses Everything

The Sun Kisses Everything

Trees climb toward the unwrappable air

Reaching for the nutritious sunlight

Daylight kisses everything

Clouds flow beyond the blue skyline

Reflecting the illustrious sunlight

Daylight caresses everything

Dust accentuates silhouettes on the horizon

Crystallizing the incorruptible sunlight

Daylight touches everything

Nature, Give, and Receive (My Christmas Message)

A poem I wrote this time last year, and my hopeful Christmas message is repeated …

Featured Images: Taken at the Ballarat Botanical Gardens

Nurture, Give, and Receive

It’s a material world

That leaves us in a whirl

What we really need

Is a planet without greed

That needs our minds to proceed

By growing and nurturing her seeds

Then our journey becomes that of the giver

Rather than being nature’s grieving receiver

Long Night Moon

The Midweek Challenge on Weekly Prompts is: Curiosities. Please visit their fabulous site by clicking on >> Here and I think my poem below is curious piece about the Winter Solstice

Featured Images Above & Below: were taken by Derrick Knight, who kindly allows me use his photos in conjunction with my poems >> https://derrickjknight.wordpress.com/2022/12/21/rising-ground-mist/

Long Night Moon

Dawn’s winter sunlight

Filters through the gloom

And softly kisses everything

The loitering ground mist rises

Above the cold night’s

Bed of overlaying ferns

As the season’s solstice

Stealthily tiptoes away

From the long night moon *

* The Long Night Moon gets its name because the full moon in December occurs near the solstice, which has the longest night of the year.

Out Of Breath (a Tanka)

All Featured Images: Were taken today at the magnificent “Ballarat Botanical Gardens”

Out Of Breath (a Tanka)

Giant redwood tree

Bears air for the atmosphere

Is life out of breath?

Nature continues to fight

Despite the disdainful crowd

Cloudless and Clueless, a Haiku

The clear blue skys of summer seem to be inspiring my writings lately ...

Cloudless and Clueless, a Haiku

Beyond vacant sky

Infinity outlives time

Why does greed survive?

Crisscross (a Tanka)

Crisscross (a Tanka)

The deep blue sky-ways

Magnify intrusive wires

Artificial lines

Crisscross every horizon

But nature holds the power

Urban Glare (Perceptions, page 43)

The weekend challenge on Weekly Prompts is: Urban. Please visit their fabulous site by clicking >> Here … Below is my response to their prompt, and the poem is also included in my new book “Perceptions”, due to be released in early December

Perceptions

Urban Glare (Perceptions, page 43)

Down into the valley

I wander

Away from urban glare

Beyond reach

Of those who do not care

About nature’s faded flare

Along a cool creek

I wander

Away from urban air

Beyond sight

Of those arrogant stares

Who do not see nature’s plight

Throwback Friday, Ripples of Inconsiderateness, by Ivor Steven

I have copied and pasted my article from “Go Dog Go Cafe’s” Throwback Friday segment … I’m afraid my computer has the ‘go-slow hic-ups’ tonight …

Here I am presenting a poem I wote in November 2019, which is in my book Tullawala, on page 23.

Ripples of Inconsiderateness (Tullawalla, page23)

Today, an arctic wind blow’s

I have winter socks on my toes

Spring’s forgotten to fill our garden barrow

Cold rains are still falling on the meadows

And on the ranges, there is new snow

Here, the ripples on the bay steeply grow

Shoreline sands are stinging airborne ammo

Our midday sun, did fail to show

Like a ship’s stowaway hiding in the cargo

He’ll be found warming himself in Moscow

It’s time to unload our winter crossbow

Give summer a turn to be the star of the show
