Melting My Heart (a Tanka)

Happy Birthday Carole

Melting My Heart (a Tanka)

The white fluffy clouds

Cannot stop the Autumn sun

From melting my heart

Around her bygone birthdays

Alas, the years keep passing

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you Beth … True love is hard to find
      And impossible to define
      When found, be exceedingly kind
      Love can spellbind your mind
But blindly, love is not declined
      😊💕💜😍

  1. Every year, as the, birthdays of those whom we’d loved and lost comes around, we feel sadness, and loss, all over again, but, eventually, as these, milestones came and went by the years, one day, we will, eventually, heal ourselves, knowing that, it’s the memories that we keep of those whom we loved, that’s, what’s, most, important in our, lives.
