And I Wonder 

 
 
 
I stand before a living, breathing tree 

And I wonder about our existence 

Beyond the shade of the ingenuous tree 


I see dreamy clouds flow by 

And behind the baptizing clouds 

A cerulean sky bedazzles my eye 


Above our world’s limited air-supply 

The incorruptible Sun habitually shepherds us 

Throughout the planet’s perennial seasons 


And I wonder about our Sun’s existence 

Among outer space’s boundless galaxies 

Beyond the immeasurable universe

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Thank you Carolyn … our morning walkie photos inspired my poem … I looked up through the tree and I saw everything … the clouds, sky, sun, and beyond but most importantly I stood before a living, breathing tree that enabled me to be and see the universe 🌏💙📖📘🎶💕… and The Travelling Wilburys song was a natural for my poem … wonderful worldly lyrics 🎶😍🤗🌏💕🐶

  7. Gorgeous photos, Ivor! Wonderful, expansive poem! ❤ Your poem leads our mind's eye upward to the treetops, to the clouds, and far, far beyond! I think humans have always looked at the sky with wonder and curiosity. Just think, in our lifetime so much knowledge about our universe has been revealed! Still, we wonder…
