Down To the Valley

Down To the Valley

Roaming.

Off the beaten track

Over sagged wire fences

Through plowed fields

Down to the valley below

Where sunflowers grow

Detouring.

Across the babbling brook

Toward the castle of broken glass

Cocooned together in woven grass

Until time awakens the past

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Powerful and ponderful…photos, poem, and song, Ivor!
Often we learn more when roaming and detouring over, under, across, and through than by staying on the marked path. We often learn more from the valleys in life than from mountains…in those valleys we can grow and mature. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Carolyn …. we were roaming away from our normal track and then I thought about how there are always detours in life’s travels … and my little mystical poem was born … and very much open to any interpretation the reader imagines … πŸ˜πŸ’›πŸ“’πŸ€—πŸΆπŸ˜‰
