An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
Do Not Be Silent (a Senryu)
A big thank you to ‘Eugi’ from “Moonwashed Musings”, with her post “Listen But Hear The Truth”, for inspiring me to write this ‘Senryu’… You may visit her wonderful site via this link >> https://amanpan.blog/2023/08/31/listen-but-hear-the-truth/
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Powerful and thought-provoking, Ivor! An old proverb comes to mind, “Silence gives consent.”
Glad you speak out, Ivor! ❤
Powerful, Ivor! Thank you for being one who speaks up and encourages others to speak up through your poems!

A wonderful quote by RFK … Thank you Carolyn, and of course my favourite is

And, with age, most of us, become, wiser, because, we observe more, and, talk, a whole lot, less…

Sometimes, silently taking it all in is the best way to judge. 🙂

We continue to be slow learners … It seems we have to age like a bottle of red wine before we mature …
