Beyond Sunset (a Tanka)

Sunset corrals me

With shadow-less power lines

Until twilight falls

Then I switch on the night lights

And see old lovers in bed

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you kindly Carolyn … the music was perfect for the mood of my poem … I was very tired after my long day at the ‘Market’ and it was midnight when I finally finished … me and Frankie will be resting up today 🎶😊😍🐶😴🤗❤️

    1. I took the photo at dusk last night, and the sun was peering through all power lines and then some nostalgic thoughts prompted my Tanka … Thank you Cheryl, I appreciate your lovely comments … xx

    1. Thanks Sue … I had a big sleep… then into loading up my devices and apps into my computer 🖥️ … pleased to say that I have recovered all my photos and I managed to start my scanner and printer … I’ve loaded most of my necessary apps … I cannot get WP to work on Microsoft Edge but it’s going for me through my Avast/Google app … “Phew” so I’ve On-The-Go all day… but still managed to walk Frankie twice … everything is a bit jumbled around but I’ll get used to where things are as time passes 😊🌏😍🖥️🤗🐶

      1. I refused to use MS Edge as my default browser, because of the adverts and pop ups, they’re distracting.

Then one day I realised I could use it for Secret Diners as it didn’t know me as SueW, so whenever I need to go to my Secret Diners site I use MS Edge, and the site assumes I’m the Secret Diner.

I use the Google browser and also the Firefox browser for everything else.

Did you know that Windows allows you to use the microphone and it will type for you as you speak?

I use it now and again, but it comes into its own when I’m reading out loud from something, it could be very useful for you to get your handwritten poems typed. 🙂

      2. Thank you kindly Sue … I’ve downloaded the instructions and printed them … I’ve just got my audio system go today … that was complicated enough … I might give it a try with a poem I am writing now … I’ll let you know how things work out … 🌏😊😍
