Daniel Norgren’s video/song below inspired me to write these reflective words …

The Last Encore

I am standing on the diminishing foreshore
Staring at that missing ground floor
“Like there was a door”

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. you are so very good with words, you clearly have a gift. isn’t it interesting that we sometimes discover out gifts after having lived a bit of our lives without really recognizing it?

    1. Thank you Beth … it’s a gift I developed after my first stroke 23 years ago … with my speech and reading rehab my therapist encouraged me to write some rhymes and for some strange reason I seem to like be good at them and my knack with words blossomed from there 📚📕😊🌏😉

  2. Because, we humans think, we can, continue to, take whatever we want, whenever we want from, Mother Nature, and, she will, soon have had enough and, unleash her wrath on our entire, species, and, because we can’t see what we’re, doing to nature, how we’d, raped her, taken all we can, and want from here, and, when she’s, finally, had enough of our ways, then, the entire global planet’s population will be at, her, mercy, and, we still have, nobody to blame for it but, ourselves.
