G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Thank you very much Willow β¦ I set myself a task to have the βdoorβ rhyme twice each line for the entire poem, it took a while but in the end the rhythm of the poem worked really well for me πππ
Thanks Nancy …. it was crazy of me to write, such a complicated little rhyme and alliteration poem … so I thought The Deep South’s crazy version of The Doors hit was very apt … π΅πΈπππ
Sad, but true.
Oh, Ivor, this poem flows so well! A fabulous weaving of words! An important message!

PS…beautiful flowers at your door. π
Yes, sadly too true Carolyn … Oh my flowers suffered during the heat wave. … I set myself a task with all the rhyme and alliteration, but I think the poem sent the message of what I was trying to say. … ππππ΅πππͺ

Love this poem!
Itchy bedsores, indeed! Haha!
What a great video; I just might use it for one of my Twofer Tuesday cover songs. Excellent choice, Ivor!

This one was deep, Ivor. Closed doors, closed ears, closed hearts…no one wants peace.
Loved the song as well. π
