Rain-less Tears

On our morning walkies, it was very overcast, but for some strange reason it didn’t rain, just a few drops here and there, like “Rain-less Tears”

Rain-less Tears

across the barren
winter paddocks
beyond the horizon’s
leafless trees
the gloomy clouds
are slowly assembling

above the melancholic
funeral congregation
humbly huddling
shoulder to shoulder
quietly weeping
rain-less tears

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. I find this poem to be beautiful and heart-touching, Ivor!
Sometimes Mother Nature shows her heart (emotions) without tears. We can feel her mood even without her tears. It’s interesting how the weather can change our moods, too. 🙂
So glad Sir Frankie had his coat on! His expression makes me laugh! 🙂

    1. Thank you Carolyn … like so many of my poems that are inspired by the photos from our morning walkies … we nearly weren’t going to go because it looked so ominous … Frankie has such inquisitive expressions 🐶😊🐶💕🌏
