An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
About Today

About Today
Our morning walk was uphill And into a gusty wind The trees were bowing to one side And the wispy clouds went zooming by
Too windy for Frankie’s fluffy ears Too windy for the birds to fly in Too windy for the moon to see her star Too windy for my teary eyes
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Ivor this is so evocative! Loved the feelings your poem evoked. Thanks for joining in.
Oh, dear! What great imagery, dear Ivor! I expected to see Sir Frankie soaring through the air, ears flapping like wings! Stay grounded, Frankie! Wonderful verse! 🤎🐶💨🌓🦅🌏💙
Oh, my, yes! Those windy days can be rough on everyone and everything…all of nature, birds, insects, animals, pets, and human-beans. But Frankie seems determined and saying, “We got this, Dad! Let’s take a windy-walk!” 😀 His facial expression and brave walking stance speak of his determination! 🙂
Fabulous poem, Ivor. It was a joy to read out loud. (I used to always read your poems out loud to Cooper…so now I continue to read them out loud and hope where he is, he is listening. 🙂 )
(((HUGS))) and keep safe!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh, I’m very happy you’re reading my poems out loud so Coops ‘can listen in’ … 💕🐶😍 he’s such a joy to walk, and keeps looking at the bright side of life … 🌏😍🐶😎💜
Ivor, “too windy for the moon to see her star” really stuck with me—such a tender image tucked into the bluster. Love how your poem carries the wind right through me.

Some days are just like that. But good on you for getting out anyway. I am thinking Frankie had a hand in that.
