About Today

About Today

Our morning walk was uphill
And into a gusty wind
The trees were bowing to one side
And the wispy clouds went zooming by

Too windy for Frankie’s fluffy ears
Too windy for the birds to fly in
Too windy for the moon to see her star
Too windy for my teary eyes

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Oh, my, yes! Those windy days can be rough on everyone and everything…all of nature, birds, insects, animals, pets, and human-beans. But Frankie seems determined and saying, “We got this, Dad! Let’s take a windy-walk!” 😀 His facial expression and brave walking stance speak of his determination! 🙂
Fabulous poem, Ivor. It was a joy to read out loud. (I used to always read your poems out loud to Cooper…so now I continue to read them out loud and hope where he is, he is listening. 🙂 )
    (((HUGS))) and keep safe!!! ❤️❤️❤️
