G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Fabulous photos! What a bird! ๐ฎ ๐ (In your first photo, that bird is like the star on the top of a Christmas tree! ๐ )
Powerful, evocative, emotion-stirring poems…Eugi’s poem and your poem, Ivor! ๐
Hope more rain falls soon. ๐
Ms. Joplin’s music/voice always stirs my emotions, too, and touches my heart and soul. ๐

Thank you for wonderful words, Carolyn โฆ Janis was a favourite of Caroleโs ๐ถ๐ โฆ the birds ๐ฆ were putting on a show for me, and imagined their flighty tricks to be a โrain dance ๐ถ๐ค๐๐๐๐ถ
Wonderful poem. Have you gotten any signifiant rain yet? Did you ever see Janis perform live? We saw her in 1970 at the Festival for Peace. She was electric. Thank you for the fabulous pix, poem and music, dear Ivor. ๐ฅฐ๐๐ถ๐๐
Oh, Iโm totally jealous, Janis never toured down our way, due to her demise โฆ my poem was totally inspired by the blackbirds (crows) putting on a flighty show me, and poetically I imagined they were doing a rain dance in the sky โฆ there will be some rain next week ๐ฆ ๐๐๐๐ถ๐ถ๐
A delightful poem about our fine-feathered friends, Ivor. Blackbirds are beautiful if you can see them up close. Their feathers shimmer with various colors. I loved Janis, and we lost her too soon. ๐
Janis was a favโ of my dear Carole โฆ these blackbirds were crows, and yes, their feathers do shimmer in the sun light โฆ thank you, Eugi ๐ฆ ๐๐๐๐ถ

Sometimes, the heavens simply, ignore our cries, and, there’s nothing we can do about that…
