The Stonehouse Pub and Canoe Cove Marina

The Saanich Peninsula, is a beautiful stretch of land on southern Vancouver Island, just north of Victoria. It’s bordered by the Saanich Inlet to the west and Haro Strait to the east, with a rich history tied to the WΜ±SÁNEΔ† (Saanich) First Nations, whose name means β€œemerging people”

It’s a fitting place for a poet to wanderβ€”rolling hills, coastal views, and a quiet kind of magic in the air.

A rustic atmosphere and friendly staff

Excellent beer and doggie friendly

The Canoe Cove marina was a fascinating place

Andrea was the new owner of this boat being lifted out of the water, and she graciously accepted one of my poetry cards

The boats had some interesting names: Cloud Nine and Spill the Wine

At the end of the day, Mungo looking exactly like I am feeling

  1. Oh, I’m in love with the Stonehouse Pub! What an absolutely delightful and charming place to visit. Lovely day to be by the water; some of those boats are impressive! What a beautiful destination and the weather looks like it’s been wonderful since you’ve been there. Mungo has stolen my heart. πŸ₯°

    1. I’m pretty tired after my huge journey from Wainwright to North Saanich, so I’m taking it easy and visiting local places until I travel to Duncan on Wednesday afternoon to see my other cousin, Penny … πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ˜΄πŸΆ
