An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
The Sky Catcher
A quiet morning sky, brushed with soft colour and held in the silhouettes of reaching trees. A few drifting lines followed me home from my walk, settling into a poem shaped by that calm, glassy light.
The Sky Catcher
The blue-stone sky is not about to cry, nor do I hear the wind sigh.
Nature’s clouds tell no lie. High, above the planet’s bonsai, I see the sun’s glassy eye solemnly decry time neither says hi nor goodbye.
A morning sky caught in stillness, and a song that drifts softly in its wake.
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Lovely write, my dear friend, and your image is gorgeous. 🥰
I put on the music, and while I listened to it, I enjoyed your photos, and I read your poem. Then I closed my eyes and “floated” with the clouds for a little while. 🙂
Your inspiration is lovely…a quiet morning sky accompanied you home and a poem was born! ⛅Fabulous poem, Ivor! 🙂
(((HUGS))) and ❤️❤️❤️ to you and to Frankie!!!
Yes, I’m a photo fanatic with my iPhone, and the ‘fluffy’ morning caught my eye … and I write the poem in my mind before I get back home … haha , the trick is to write the words down before I forget, Carolyn 🥰📖🌏📘🤗🐶💕
