An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
Presiding (a Haiku)
Some poems arrive quickly, while others rest patiently in the drafts. After a quiet wait of a few weeks, this haiku seemed ready to take its place among recent reflections on nature and birds.
Presiding (a Haiku)
Here I calmly be Overseeing twilight time The day’s final stand
Today’s haiku is accompanied by Glen Hansard’s beautiful live performance of “Her Mercy”, a song that seemed to share the poem’s quiet patience and reflective spirit.
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

So wonderful, Ivor! 🙂
I always felt like my poems were “born”…some had a quick birth and others had a l-o-n-g labor before the birth. 🙂
Beautiful photos, poem and music/song! 🙂 I’ve always enjoyed Mr. Hansard’s music.
(I was sad when he passed. 😦 )
(((HUGS))) and ❤️❤️❤️
Yes, I was devastated by Glen’s unfortunate passing … As you know, birds constantly inspire and my first line explains it all for me
“Here I calmly be”
Thank you so much, Carolyn 🥰🦅📖🤗🌏🐶
