G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

So true about the birds! Powerful poem, Ivor!
Nature…we should be quiet observers…(watch and learn with respect and gratitude)…and not be loud destroyers.
Wowza…that song ignites some deep thinking in me.

Lovely bird poem, Ivor. 🙂 I love watching the birds too.
A pair of magpies spend a lot of time in my garden, but the resident seems to be a single crow. To distinguish it from the others it has a white spot at the end of its tail feathers. It seems to be a loner and is never with a flock. It sits on the wall and watches me through the kitchen window. It used to be here with a friend but that one has disappeared.
I’ve only an iPhone camera and It’s hard to get good shots of the birdies … I was lucky this time, as I was only 10 metres away … they seem too busy to worry about me …
All good things do come to an end sooner or later… thank you Derrick for allowing me to share your wonderful photos on my poetry site … I have enjoyed our collaboration’s immensely 🤗📘🌏

I think magpies are amongst the most flighty, you did well to manage your shots.
