My Dog Has a Full Tank (a Tanka)

Frankie in hiding under the table … he knew he was naughty!

My Dog Has a Full Tank (a Tanka)

While I was away

My dog got up to mischief

Up on the table

A bag of smacko’s was gone

“Gutz”, had eaten all his treats

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Sir Frankie had an upset tummy last night!! ā€¦ definitely too much of a good thing to have in a few minutesā€¦. šŸ˜šŸ¶šŸ˜‰ ā€¦ heā€™ll be ok by the end of the dayā€¦ heā€™s got a cast-iron Gutz ā€¦looks like Iā€™ll have to hang my backpack up on the bookcase instead of up on the ā€œtableā€ ā€¦ we live and learn about the cleverness of ā€œSir Frankieā€ šŸ¶šŸ˜‰šŸ˜šŸ‘€

  2. Hahaā€¦ Oh, yes weā€™ve been there too. Woody is ruled by his stomach.

This morning, I read an article called the One Touch Rule. So in this case weā€™re talking about your bag.

It takes one touch to hang up the bag where it belongs, but it takes two touches to put it down, then pick it up again later to hang it where it belongs.

So, if we apply the one touch rule to everything, we end up with a tidier home and it takes less effort. Makes perfect sense! šŸ™‚ I love that idea. šŸ™‚

      1. Joshuaā€™s annoying two touch habit is his coat! When he gets home he will walk straight into the kitchen, take off his coat and drape it over a chair.

One touch means if heā€™d hung it up in the first place before he reached the kitchen he wouldnā€™t need to touch it a second time, by picking it up again and walking back into the hall to hang it up.

I am forever reminding him that the kitchen is not a cloakroom. šŸ™‚

      2. Without me telling you off! šŸ˜‚

Iā€™m actually quite tidy but Iā€™m also guilty of putting things down on the table when I get home.
Iā€™m definitely going to adopt the idea of one touch. Itā€™s less work, no more tiding up sessions. šŸ™‚

      3. I can identify with that šŸ˜ƒ I start one job, get sidetracked and end up starting another before the first is finished.

Take today, I was cleaning the kitchen and remembered Iā€™d left my phone upstairs. While up there I thoughtā€¦ā€™Why not vacuum the carpets while Iā€™m here, I can dust laterā€˜

And now Iā€™m back on the kitchen clean and the upstairs still hasnā€™t been dusted! šŸ˜…

      4. Now that sounds very familiarā€¦ Iā€™m glad I havenā€™t got an upstairs ā€¦ by the time I got up there Iā€™d forget what I was up there for ā€¦šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜‰
