G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

We were only talking this morning about power lines. My school art master encouraged us to leave them in our paintings. They certainly suit your photograph
Your photo, your poem, and that song are a powerful trio, Ivor! One of your best-est poems! It made me smile, sigh, and get a bit teary-eyed.

Thank you kindly Carolyn โฆ the music was perfect for the mood of my poem โฆ I was very tired after my long day at the โMarketโ and it was midnight when I finally finished โฆ me and Frankie will be resting up today ๐ถ๐๐๐ถ๐ด๐คโค๏ธ
I bet the “old lovers” had just dined on the “early bird special” at their favorite restaurant! ๐ A very touching poem, Ivor! Beautiful post and love the photo!
I took the photo at dusk last night, and the sun was peering through all power lines and then some nostalgic thoughts prompted my Tanka … Thank you Cheryl, I appreciate your lovely comments … xx
Thanks Sue โฆ I had a big sleepโฆ then into loading up my devices and apps into my computer ๐ฅ๏ธ โฆ pleased to say that I have recovered all my photos and I managed to start my scanner and printer โฆ Iโve loaded most of my necessary apps โฆ I cannot get WP to work on Microsoft Edge but itโs going for me through my Avast/Google app โฆ โPhewโ so Iโve On-The-Go all dayโฆ but still managed to walk Frankie twice โฆ everything is a bit jumbled around but Iโll get used to where things are as time passes ๐๐๐๐ฅ๏ธ๐ค๐ถ
I refused to use MS Edge as my default browser, because of the adverts and pop ups, theyโre distracting.
Then one day I realised I could use it for Secret Diners as it didnโt know me as SueW, so whenever I need to go to my Secret Diners site I use MS Edge, and the site assumes Iโm the Secret Diner.
I use the Google browser and also the Firefox browser for everything else.
Did you know that Windows allows you to use the microphone and it will type for you as you speak?
I use it now and again, but it comes into its own when Iโm reading out loud from something, it could be very useful for you to get your handwritten poems typed. ๐
Thank you kindly Sue … I’ve downloaded the instructions and printed them … I’ve just got my audio system go today … that was complicated enough … I might give it a try with a poem I am writing now … I’ll let you know how things work out … ๐๐๐
Sweet.

To the See
Waves carry the kiss
In blue crests upon the shore
