Hello, dear readers and followers. As you may know, I stopped producing my โTullawalla Bookletsโ at #31 because that was the house number of our familyโs Tullawalla Homestead.
Yet the booklet format is a superb way for me to catalogue the vast number of poems I produce, and as the saying goes, โI Am Turning Another Pageโ. Here I have begun a new series of poem booklets, called โShangri Laโ, the name of my little Villa, and it is my piece of โearthly paradise, a retreat from the pressures of modern civilizationโ.
I now have โ2354โ poems gathered across these booklets
(On my bookshelf, sits โThe Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson, with 1775 poems โ when I first began writing, I never imagined I would one day surpass that number.)
โLike all my booklets, this one is here to be read at your leisure โ no rush, no expectation, just an open page waiting when you are.โ

Lifeโs Missing Teacher
I never found a teacher,
who taught me how to grieve.
The unforeseen creature
was difficult to perceive.
After unplugging her extension cord,
time was always near.
While wandering toward
the edge of lifeโs weathered pier.
In the spaces grief never taught me to navigate, Cohenโs song becomes a guide.

So very lovely, my dear friend. Grief is something so personal; each one of us handles it in our own way, and in our own time. It can never be taught, but it can be shared, and that and time are the only things that help. โค๏ธ

Exactly what Nancy said. I can understand your grief, having lost a spouse but I cannot know how you grieve. This was an interesting Cohen piece. I was unfamiliar with it.

Yes we all have to deal with it soon or later, and we all have our personal way of coping, Dale

Yes, you are so right, grief is very personal…and that is the way it should be. How to do it, cannot be taught. But together we can help each other, experience some comfort, and feel less alone. โค๏ธ
Mr. Cohen…his voice, his words…has always been a help and guide to me. โค๏ธ

Ah, yes my article is all about โShangri La Volume 20โ which title happens to be โLifeโs Missing Teacherโ โฆ most readers seem to be commenting on the poem and not the actual booklet itself, which is now the 51st booklet of the two seriesโฆ (((HUG))) ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฅฐ๐ถ๐

that is so sad, and we each have to go through it in our way, no book or teacher to tell us what to do

Such a beautiful poem.
Congratulations, Ivor, so many poems written and published. Itโs a good feeling to look back on the many achievements that were once simply imagined. ๐

Thank you very much for your kind words, Sue … and it all started as a bit of self-help therapy so I could read and write again … ‘from little things, big things grow’ … ๐๐๐๐

That’s an impressive number of poems, Ivor. I understand grief, as well, from past experiences. In fact, yesterday Spillwords published my poem about grief, which I will share later. Thank you for sharing your booklets. ๐โฎ๏ธ๐ช
